Miguel Sanchez, Deacon

Deacon Miguel was born in a remote area in the hills of the state of Michoacán in Mexico. He is the eldest of seven. At the age of 16, he came to live with his cousins in Stanton, California. He later met his wife, Cynthia, and the couple have a son and a daughter as well as three grandchildren.

In 2013, he was ordained a permanent Deacon and was assigned to Blessed Sacrament parish. Once a month, he and his wife celebrate communion service at juvenile hall, coordinate marriage prep classes, baptism classes and Natural Family planning. He also performs baptisms, funeral vigils, RCIA and assists his wife in the faith formation program. Occasionally, he celebrates weddings, funerals and quinceañeras. Both he and his wife are also part of the Diaconate Board for the class of 2021.
